Bangalore sees a 9% increase in the hiring activity in March15&rsquo over March&rsquo14: Naukri Job Speak Index

  • Accounting sector registered the maximum growth to the tune of43% in March 2015 as compared with March 2014
  • Hiring in Telecom sector increased by 8% in March&rsquo15 over March&rsquo14
  • Professionals working in IT industrysaw a 31% upsurge in demand in March&rsquo15 over March&rsquo14

Bangalore, April XX,2015:
The Naukri Job Speak Index for Bangalorewas at 1967 inMarch 2015 indicating a 9% increase in the hiring activity in comparison to March2014. Industry wise too, thehiring sentiment looked upbeat with sectors like Accounting and Telecomseeing an increase of 43% and 8%respectively in their hiring levels for the same time period. Banking and Financial Services also saw a strong increase in their hiring activity in March15&rsquoover March 14&rsquo.

Industry Sector Analysis:
A detailed analysis revealed that among the key sectors of the city, Accountingsaw a Y-o-Y increase of 43% in hiring. Oil/Gas and Power sector too saw a Y-o-Y upward movement by 12%. However, sectors like Construction registered a downward hiring trend in the same time period.

Functional Area Analysis:
The job index spelt good news for ITprofessionals with the sector continuing to hireexperienced talent. The demand for professionals in the sector saw a Y-o-Y increase of 31%. Sectors like HR and Bankingalso continued to hire at a decent pace and showed a 21% and 19% rise respectively over the year. However, hiring of Supply Chain/ Logistics professionals saw a downward trendwith the index moving down by 20% in the same period.
