Bangalore sees a 16% increase in the hiring activity in Feb 15&rsquo over Feb 14&rsquo: Naukri Job Speak Index

  • IT sector sees a marginal increase of 23% in hiring in February 15&rsquo over February 14&rsquo
  • Account and Finance professionals saw increased hiring activities in their sectors with the index moving up by 11%

The Naukri Job Speak Index for Bangalore was at 2005 in February 2015 indicating a 16% increase in the hiring activity in comparison to February 2014. Industry wise also hiring sentiments looked upbeat with sectors like IT and Pharma seeing an increase of 23% and 12% respectively in their hiring levels in the same time period. Barring all sectors, only Banking and Financial Services saw a strong increase of 77% in their hiring activity in February 15&rsquo over February 14&rsquo.

Industry Sector Analysis:
A detailed analysis revealed that among the key sectors of the city, IT saw an increase of 23% in hiring over the year. The Banking sector experienced robust hiring and registered a massive growth of 77% in Feb 15&rsquo in comparison to Feb&rsquo14. Telecom and Pharma also saw hiring going upwards by 14% and 12% respectively in the same time period. However, an important sector of the city, Construction & Engineering saw a dip of 4% over the year.

Functional Area Analysis:
The job index spelt good news for IT professionals with the sector continuing to hire experienced talent. The demand for professionals in the sector saw an increase of 12% in the month of February 15&rsquo over February 14&rsquo. Sectors like Accounts and Finance and HR also continued to hire at a decent pace and showed a 11% and 18% rise respectively over the year. However, hiring of Production and Maintenance professionals saw a downward trend with the index moving down by 6% in the same period.
