Hiring in Hyderabad up by 20% Y-0-Y- said Naukri Job Speak Index for December &rsquo14
- Hiring in IT-Software and ITES/BPO sectors increased by 12% and 9% respectively in December &rsquo14 over December&lsquo14
- Pharma sector registered a 4% decline in hiring activity in December&rsquo14 over December &rsquo13
Hyderabad, 8th January 2015:
Hiring activity in Hyderabad saw an upsurge of 20% year on year in December &rsquo14. The Naukri Job Speak Index for the city was at 1577 in December 2014 as compared to 1320 in December 2013. Among the key sectors for the city, IT and ITES registered year on year growth of 12% and 9% respectively while the Pharma sector saw a decline of 4% in hiring activity in December &rsquo14.
V Suresh, Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, Naukri.com said, &ldquoJob market in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad Hyderabad has witnessed a 20% increase in the hiring activity in December 2014. This growth is primarily driven by IT and ITES and with the revival of the domestic and global economies, we can expect the momentum to continue and bring cheer to jobseekers in the year 2015.&rdquo
Industry Sector Analysis:
An in-depth analysis for Hyderabad revealed that other than the IT and ITES sectors, BFSI also contributed to the growth with a 17% yoy increase in hiring activity in the sector. Capital Goods sector also witnessed an increase of 6% for the same period. However, one of the key sectors for the city, Pharma, registered a decline of 4% in December &rsquo14 when compared to December &rsquo13. Among other leading sectors, Construction also saw a marginal 1% decline in hiring activity as depicted by the Naukri Job Speak Index.
Functional Area Analysis:
The demand for hiring IT-Software professionals saw an increase of 18% in the month of December &rsquo14 over December &rsquo13 while ITES witnessed a 7% growth over the same period. Hiring for Accounts & Finance professionals and HR professionals also recorded a healthy year on year increase of 21% and 20% respectively in December &rsquo14. However, hiring of Project Management and Production & Maintenance professionals saw a southward trend with the index moving down by 8% and 7% respectively in December &rsquo14 over December &rsquo13.
