The Index has witnessed a 14% increase in hiring in April'14 over April'13.
- Amongst metros, Delhi-NCR region witnessed the maximum improvement in hiring with the index moving up by 11% in April’14 over March'14.
- Insurance sector saw the maximum growth with the index moving up by 24% in April'14 over March'14.
The Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of April 2014 was at 1589 showing a 7% increase in hiring activity when compared to March 2014. Yearly comparison shows a 14 % increase in hiring activity when compared to April'13. Industry wise hiring sentiment was buoyant across all the major sectors. Telecom sector saw the index moving up by 19% M-O-M. Among the top metros, Mumbai also saw growth with the index moving up by 10% in April'14 over March'14.

Industry Sector Analysis:
An in depth analysis reveals that the BPO and Pharma sector have done well with the index moving up by 14% and 11% in April’14 over March'14. Banking& Financial sector and Auto have registered a spike with the index moving up 4% and 6% M-O-M respectively in the same period. Sectors like Construction & Engineering and IT have seen growth with index going up by 4% and 3% M-O-M respectively.
In terms of decline, Oil & Gas is the only sector which has seen a downward trajectory with the Naukri Job Speak Index going down by 7% in April’14 over March'14.
Functional Area Analysis:
The demand for professionals working in Banking & Insurance sector saw the maximum growth with the Naukri Job Speak Index moving up by 16% in April'14 over March'14. Professionals employed in BPO and HR/administration also saw growth with the index moving up by 14% and 12% M-O-M each respectively. Sales and Marketing professionals also saw a spurt with the Naukri Job Speak Index moving up by 9% and 8% M-O-M respectively.
Professionals working in Project management and Maintenance saw a dip with the index moving down by 5% and 4% M-O-M each respectively
City Wise Analysis:
Amongst cities, Delhi and Mumbai have taken the lead in April'14 with highest and second highest growth in Naukri Job Speak Index. Pune has seen growth with the Naukri Job Speak Index moving up by 8% in April'14 over March'14. Hyderabad and Kolkata have seen a slight growth with the Naukri Job Speak Index moving up by 3 % each M-O-M.
Cities like Bangalore and Chennai have seen no change in hiring in April'14 with the Naukri Job Speak Index showing no change in the previous month.
