Pune saw a 18% increase in hiring in April &rsquo15 over April &rsquo14: Naukri Job Speak Index

  • IT-Software/Software Services sector saw a significant increase of 22% in hiring in the same period
  • BPO sector saw a dip of 2% in hiring in April &rsquo15

Pune, May 12,2015:
The Naukri Job Speak Index for the month of April 2015 for Pune was at 2188 indicating an 18% increase in the hiring activity in comparison to April 2014. Sectors like Construction and Engineering and Insurance saw a decline of 5% and 23% respectively in their hiring activity over the same period. However, sectors like Banking and Financial Services showed robust hiring with the index going up by 75% in the same period.

Industry Sector Analysis:
A detailed analysis revealed that apart from Insurance, Auto and Construction and Engineering, most key sectors like IT-Software/Software Services and Accounting saw an increase in their hiring with the index moving up by 22% and 27% respectively in April&rsquo15 over April 14&rdquo. However, while the Insurance sector experienced a dip with the index going down by 23%, the hiring activity in the Auto sector remained stable in the same period.

Functional Area Analysis:
The demand for professionals working in IT- Software saw an increase of 26% in April 15&rsquo over April 14'. But professionals employed in Project Management and Production and Maintenance witnessed a marginal dip of 12% and 6% in hiring in the same period. Even employment opportunities for Engineering Design - R&D professionals saw a decline of 8% in this time period.
